How does glow in the dark ink work?

Chemically, glow in the dark ink uses a special type of phosphor. Phosphors are substances that can absorb energy and emits it back out as light. The electrons move from one atomic orbit to another releasing the stored energy. When you expose this phosphor to ultraviolet (UV) radiation, such as sunlight or an artificial UV lamp, the electrons move from a higher energy level to a lower energy level. As the electrons return to their ground state, they release their stored energy as light.

If you add glow in the dark ink into other materials or coatings and expose them to ultraviolet radiation, they too will glow in the dark. For example, if you put this phosphor onto a piece of black paper, it will glow in the dark when exposed to ultraviolet radiation. The more phosphors there are, the brighter and longer lasting your product will be.

There are several types of chemicals that can be used as a phosphor: zinc sulfide, strontium aluminate or calcium nitrate.

It depends on different factors such as design, color and the number of colors on the shirt.

The more intricate a project is usually considered a more complicated process and therefore a higher cost applies to obtain a completely finished product that will be satisfactory for your custom glow in the dark ink shirts.

Any detail that turns out not as expected or does not have acceptable results can cause delays and increased costs over time during production because corrections take additional time.

If you want to invest in this type of printing, take into account how many pieces you really need what kind of size , material and then talk with our designer about details before ordering your desired shirt. All these factors will help minimize costs.
